Year 2 Probets/Offen and Year 2 Sampson have begun 2021 with energy and enthusiasm!

We were all so excited to begin the year as the newest residents of the ELC, and we have enjoyed settling into our new classrooms, filling the walls with art work and our learning. We began the year getting to know each other by bringing in a paper brag bag, filled with special treasures that tell the story of who we are and what our interests are.

In Health, Ms Offen taught us about what a fixed mindset and a growth mindset is, and about how important it is to approach every learning task with a growth mindset. We finished the lesson by planting grass heads. These heads have been growing and growing, just like our brains have been when we learn new things!

In Religion, Mrs Sampson has been teaching us about the Liturgical Calendar and the different colours that represent the different seasons of the Church. We are now in the season of Lent so our prayer cloth has changed from green to purple.

Mrs Probets has been helping us to practise our numbers. Each day we join in on Daily Maths Reviews where we practise numbers, the time, months of the year, place value and we sing songs to help us remember important maths concepts. What a busy start to Year 2 we have had!
