Introducing our Flinders University Social Workers
Introducing Nardy . . .
Hello staff, students and friends of Catherine McAuley School.
I am currently undertaking my Masters of Social Work with Flinders University and I am one of two new student social workers doing a 6-month placement with the school.
My main goals here at the school is to learn from everyone I am surrounded by, and to promote a positive and healthy outlook on emotions and mental health.
While at Catherine McAuley School I am going to be working 1-on-1 with students and providing in-class support. In the coming months, I will also be looking into running group support programs and community events for the school.
I have volunteer experience in youth support with teenagers, and also a Bachelor Degree in English - Creative Writing, and I look forward to be able to put this experience and wealth of knowledge to good use here at Catherine McAuley.
Please feel free to introduce yourself to me if you see me in the yard, as I am excited to meet everyone involved with the school.
Introducing Isaac . . .
Hi everyone, my name is Isaac, and you can call me Mr. Isaac. I am a social work student from Flinders University.
Some of you might have seen me in your class and some of you might have chatted to me already. The reason that I am here is to do my first placement and build up a connection with you and your family.
But I will be also teaching different kinds of stuff such as life skills and cultural diversity based on my personal experience.
At Catherine McAuley I will be supporting breakfast club, community events, lunch time play activities as well as one to one sessions with students, small group sessions and supporting in class. So, I’m really excited and looking forward to meeting you in the future! I will be here for about 6 months so do not hesitate to talk to me and share your journey with me.
If you are interested in my journey, then I will be more than welcome and happy to share it with you!
We hope all our students, families, volunteers and staff will make Nardy and Isaac feel very welcome and we thank them for chosing Catherine McAuley School for their placements.
