Dear Families, 

It is with great delight that we are once again involved in the Catholic Education SA (CESA) Aboriginal Cultural Residency Program. The goal of the program is to get Aboriginal voices into our schools. There are at least 63 SA Catholic schools involved in the program this year. We participate to develop authentic realtionships, learn about histories and culture, for reconciliation, understanding and repsect. The program has our Aboriginal students, and a friend each, working intensively with Tony Straccia and artist Audrey Brumby over 7 weeks. Our aim is for these students to then tutor their class peers in what they learn with Tony and Audrey. 

You will have noticed the new popular Popper fidget toys that students are bringing to school. Please have a conversation with your child/ren about respecting their own and others' property as many are being bartered, sold and used for bribes, which is disappointing to many and completely unfair. It's perhaps best to be kept at home otherwise there is a real risk of losing them. 

Breakfast Club will need support on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in Term 2 from 8.15 - 9.00 am. If you are able to help prepare toast, serve and clean up on either of these morning, please let Miss Angela Morrison know or contact the front office. Thank you in anticpation. 

Thank you everyone for your amazing support of the Mother's Day Stall. Thanks to those who selected the gifts, set up the stall and sold to the students. It's a very effective fundraiser for the school and is also beneficial to the significant women in our lives. I am aware that such a time might be one of pain for some in the community who might miss that special person at such a time.

You are most welcome to join us in the JHPAC this Friday for a special Mother's Day Liturgy beginning at 2.00 pm. At the conclusion of the liturgy, the Mother's Day FREE raffle will be drawn - there are 12 prizes and all families have been entered into the draw. Good luck!
