Catherine McAuley School was established in 1996 and has a rich Catholic tradition based on the values of our patron Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sister's of Mercy.

Your child’s journey at Catherine McAuley School starts with our award-winning playgroup.

Catherine McAuley School also provides an outstanding Out of School Hours and Vacation Care service to families and the community. Set in our architecturally designed facility, this service provides before and after school care as well as holiday care with a range of exiting and engaging activities for students.

We are situated near South Australia’s largest military base, RAAF Base Edinburgh. Many Defence families choose to send their children to Catherine McAuley School because of the care and understanding we provide to these students. We know that starting a new school can be difficult and children of Defence members face particular issues at home and school In partnership with Defence Community Organisation, Catherine McAuley has a Defence Aide on site who works closely with our Defence families to mentor and support children through postings, deployments and times of absence.

Catherine McAuley School is part of the Elizabeth Mercy Schools Cluster and has close bond with local high schools including Xavier College, St Columba College and St Thomas More College. This assures your child a smooth, one-system education from kindergarten to year 12.

Our focus as a "Green school" involves our children developing a relationship with their environment and becoming caretakers of a sustainable global world.Our "green school" program involves children recycling paper and biodegradable waste, water catchment and recycling, and a sustainable garden.

Our school has a deep sense of Catholic mission and social inclusion and through the vegetables grown in the sustainable garden provides regular soup to Centa Care as part of our school's outreach program.

Parking

Parking on Adams Road and Somerset Grove is limited with time zone restrictions which are regularly monitored by the City of Playford Council. There is ample parking in surrounding streets and multiple access points to the campus. We strongly encourage all our families to talk to their children about road safety. The school has a student crossing at the front and rear and all students and parents are required to use these crossing when accessing the school grounds.

Adelaide Metro bus stops are located along Craigmore Road, Adams Road and Somerset Grove.
